Fire door inspections

Our inspections assess accessible parts of each fire door set, including its condition, operation and relevant components. Findings are recorded digitally, with photographs and clear identification of defects and limitations.

Non-intrusive inspections assess what can be seen and checked without opening up the construction. Where concealed installation details need investigation, intrusive sampling can be included within an agreed scope.

Compartmentation surveys

We survey accessible compartmentation features and record visible defects or areas that require further investigation. Depending on the agreed scope, this may include fire-resisting walls and floors, service penetrations, fire stopping and interfaces around fire door frames.

Access, existing information and the extent of any opening up are agreed before the survey. Concealed areas cannot be confirmed from a visual inspection alone.

Compliance support

We can help you understand inspection findings, distinguish confirmed defects from requests for further evidence, and organise records for your ongoing inspection programme.

We can discuss inspection scheduling and help identify issues that need prompt attention. Advice should be sought from a competent fire risk assessor to determine the works required in the context of the building’s fire risk assessment, fire strategy and intended use. Specialist technical advice may also be needed for the design and specification of those works.

A scope that suits your building

Before quoting, we discuss the premises, access arrangements, approximate asset numbers and existing information. The proposal will explain what is included, how findings will be recorded and any relevant exclusions.
